The main objective
The conference objective is to evaluate the possibilities of growing woody plants for mechanical, chemical, and energy use, and analyze the sources of wood biomass and the possibilities for its processing for energy purposes. Assess the legislative framework and the economic efficiency of biomass production variants, from the establishment of energy plantations and intensive stands to their management and subsequent processing. As part of the technology assessment, highlight the potential risks to people and the environment during the production, processing, and storage of biomass for energy purposes. Explore new methods of precision forestry in the quantitative and qualitative biomass assessment.
The conference's goal is also to present the results of the APVV 22-0001 project, titled Optimization of the Main Health and Safety Risks in the Use of Forest Biomass for Energy Purposes.
Topic circuits
Topics:
Possibilities of fast-growing trees, availability and price assessment of biomass resources as a renewable energy source. Legislative framework and state support for the establishment and cultivation of energy plantations and stands. Trends in the production and utilization of biomass for mechanical, chemical, and energy purposes.
Effectiveness of biomass production technologies for mechanical, chemical, and energy use (from soil preparation, establishment and management of energy stands and plantations, harvesting to storage of energy raw materials).
Analysis and identification of the main risks affecting people and the environment during the production and processing of biomass and its subsequent storage.
Modern methods for monitoring, recording, and determining the volume and quality of biomass.
