The main objective
The aim of the second year of the scientific symposium is to focus on the harmonic fusion and interactions of classical and popular music in an attempt to define and describe the mutual influences and inspirations of these two originally divergent artistic spheres and to name the innovative moments and convergent forces that had a fundamental impact on the paradigm shift in musical art in the first quarter of the 21st century. The contributions will simultaneously try to capture not only the historical context of the mutual interactions of the spheres of classical and popular music, but also their ideological and socio-cultural determinants in Slovak and Polish music, or in the music of other cultures. The symposium aims to point out the topicality of solving this issue, which has so far been little reflected in the professional community in Slovakia, and to attract other young theorists who would focus their professional interest on mapping and researching the fusion of both artistic fields.
Topic circuits
We welcome all experts who are interested in contemporary art and its institutional provision in Slovakia and the wider European area. We expect the participation of a wider professional and artistic public, who are interested in current issues of art. The event also aims to provide a space for the presentation of research results in the field of contemporary art and art pedagogy and for the exchange of experience in the field of research across different generations of experts.
