The main objective

The European Researchers' Night is the largest science festival in Slovakia, bringing news and information from the world of research and innovation in an inspiring and unique way. Each year the focus of the festival adapts to current societal themes and challenges.

The aim of the festival is to present technological achievements and innovative solutions that make our lives easier and more comfortable, and help to reverse the adverse trends of global development.

The festival is intended for both professional and general audiences. The festival program is accessible and understandable to everyone, regardless of age, education or previous experience with science, and offers a series of scientific presentations, discussions, practical experiments, workshops, and technological attractions. Visitors will have the opportunity to learn about various topics that experts will present in a clear, engaging, and interactive manner.

Accompanying events:

  • Falling Walls Lab (25.9.2025) - final of the Falling Walls Lab Slovakia competition in V-Klub (Bratislava).

Topic circuits

Main theme 2025 - CHAOS with the subtitle: "Seeking Order in an Unpredictable World."
The main theme of the Night of Science 2025 is chaos, its connection with knowledge and innovative processes, but also with the perception of randomness around us.This year's event aims to show that the uncertainty and complexity associated with chaos are not an obstacle to science, but a tool for knowledge and a driver of technological progress.

Topic headings:

  • Global challenges - science provides solutions to major global challenges, such as tackling climate change.
  • Protecting against misinformation - critical thinking and understanding of scientific facts are key to ensuring that people do not fall for hoaxes, pseudoscience or conspiracy theories that polarise society.
  • Building a better future - science improves everyday life and makes it possible to build a sustainable, just and safe world for future generations.
