Prospects of graduates

The faculty trains specialists for the field of pre-school education, for the first stage of primary school (teaching for primary education) and teachers of academic, artistic-educational and educational subjects in primary schools, primary art schools and secondary schools. As one of the few faculties in the Slovak Republic, it creates an educational base for the entire field of special education, which allows to provide training of teachers and educators for all types of special schools and institutions for children and youth with special educational needs. In addition, the faculty trains specialists in foreign languages and cultures. In the field of speech therapy, graduates are qualified to practise as speech therapists in the health, education and labour and social affairs departments as well as in non-state institutions. In the field of therapeutic pedagogy, the faculty prepares specialists to carry out therapeutic pedagogical professional activities in the education, health and social affairs departments. Graduates of social pedagogy studies acquire professional competence as social pedagogues, foster carers, educators and as state and local government workers in the field of child and youth care. The Department of Social Work educates social workers for various fields of social work.
