Prospects of graduates
Graduate of the second degree of university study in the “Materials Engineering” engineering (Master) study programme (the field of study: 36. Mechanical Engineering) has complex and comprehensive knowledge and he/she is educated enough to work in the area of research and development as well as in the area of production of technical materials and technological processing of technical materials into semi-finished products and final products. Moreover, the given graduate is completely familiar with specialised testing methods, selection and predetermined processing as well as quality control and materials operational (in-service) diagnostics process, considering main types of technical materials. He/she has extensive knowledge of mutual relationships between chemical composition, structure and technically important properties of materials because he/she also has been educated in a wide range of such scientific and engineering subjects, which allow him/her to be quickly adapted and to be flexible in combination and application of new principles and progressive approaches along with the generally known scientific knowledge. Taking into account also the environmental aspects, the graduate of the second degree of university study in “Materials engineering” engineering (Master) study programme is able to perform complex analysis and he/she can also propose and recommend complex scientific and engineering solutions (resolutions) and approaches due to the comprehensive scientific and engineering knowledge in the area of various types of materials, including metals, polymers, elastomers, glass and many others. Based on the fact mentioned hereinbefore, the graduate has adequate knowledge, skills and experience to manage or to be the leader of research and development technical team as well as he has been learned or educated to work as the principal investigator or the member of research and development team of the complex projects because he/she has been trained to take the complete responsibility for complex resolutions and approaches. On the basis of the own selection of the compulsory elective subjects, the graduates are specialised and trained in these specific scientific and engineering areas: polymer materials, inorganic materials, textile materials, metallic materials, physical engineering of materials, environmental engineering and computer-assisted materials engineering. Relating to the given degree of study, an integral part of the education is also based on the work with some special software packages and it means that the graduate has complex knowledge of computational modelling, numerical analysis and simulation of technological processes in dependence on materials properties, including simulation of various components under the specific loading and it can lead to the subsequent optimisation of the design of the final products, components or in other words technical materials, even from the aspect of the operational (in-service) loading load simulation of components from technical materials, with the aim of their optimal design in terms of operational load. Resulting from this engineering study programme, the wide spectra of the comprehensive knowledge and skills represent the prerequisites for flexibility and adaptability of graduate to be successful in practical application of knowledge in various industrial areas. Graduate has ability to identify, specify and propose complex materials solutions (resolutions) and approaches, regarding various technical specialisations and moreover, he/she is also able to manage and control research and development teams to solve the complex technical problems. Moreover, he/she can be in permanent contact with continuous technical developments in the specialised technical engineering area. Moreover he/she is educated in such a way to be able to continue in his/her own professional growth in specific scientific discipline.

In relation to the graduate of the second degree of university study in the “Materials Engineering” engineering (Master) study programme (the field of study: 36. Mechanical Engineering), the practical application is wide-ranging. The graduates are completely educated to be employed and work in these specific technical and engineering areas:
- as the research and development worker in the area of the materials engineering, industrial engineering, application of experimental methods to study the structure and properties as well as functionality of materials;
- as the research and development worker in the area of basic research, referring to the development of new materials, research of the physical and mechanical materials properties as well as the development of new diagnostic methods, innovative processes, sustainable technology solutions with minimum consumption of raw materials, energy and minimum waste (comprehensive processing of initial raw materials and final materials or products);
- as the production of manufacturing technologist or manager in the area of the projection and design and management of modern and environmentally acceptable industrial technological processes, progressive materials, products of consumption and technical services;
- as a member of managerial personnel or specialised team leading worker in the area of production problem solving, materials processing, materials quality control and assurance in order to ensure the economic prosperity of the company;
- as the specialist or the member of control administration personnel in the area of environmental engineering and sustainable development for regions, towns and villages;
- as the specialist in business area for production and technological processes, management processes as well as processes which stand for economic growth of company.

Conditions of admission
THE CONDITIONS, PREREQUISITES AND REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ADMISSION OF THE APPLICANT FOR ENGINEERING (MASTER) STUDY PROGRAMME:
The fundamental prerequisite or requirement for admission of student in relation to Engineering study programme (the second degree of the higher university education) is based on the completion or accomplishment of the first degree of the higher university study or education (completion or accomplishment of the Bachelor study).

Additional information
Full-time and part-time applicants for engineering study will be admitted on the basis of the results of the admission procedure which will be predominantly based on the appraisal of accomplished or completed bachelor study at higher education institutions with the same or related study programmes and study fields.
To be accepted and admitted officially, all applicants have to keep and meet the requirements or prerequisites which are introduced hereinafter.

COMPULSORY PREREQUISITES, DOCUMENTS AND ENCLOSURES AS A PART OF THE APPLICATION FORM FOR ENGINEERING STUDY

To accept the application form, it is necessaryto pay administrative fee for entrance examination in the sum of 17.00 € and it has to be paid by bank transfer.

To keep the official rules and measures, the given compulsory or required documents have to be also sent in the form of hard copy to the address:
Faculty of Industrial Technologies, ul. I. Krasku 491/30, 020 01 Puchov.

The given compulsory prerequisites, documents and enclosures are:
• completely filled an application form (only if you decide not to use the comfortable e-application process);
• an officially verified or recognised authentic photocopy of the state examination certificate (not obligatory for graduates of our faculty);
• an officially verified or recognised proof on completion of the 1st degree of university study (Bachelor study) – diploma (not obligatory for graduates of our faculty);
• the Diploma Supplement – the recognised proof on bachelor study results (not obligatory for graduates of our faculty);
structured Curriculum Vitae (Resume).

Conditions for international students
The conditions of admission for foreign applicants are identical with the conditions of admission of Slovak students.
