Conditions for international students

As a foreign student - self-payer a foreign citizen may apply, who is not a citizen of an EU country and does not have his/her permanent address in any of the EU member countries. The teaching language is Slovak.

Self-payers:

Application deadline:  by 31 July, 2010

entrance exam term:  September 2010

Admission fee: EUR 40 Tuition:  EUR 3,300 for an academic year

Payment term  - together with the application

Payment method  - the applicants shall pay the fee by a money order type U. Name of recipient: Faculty of Law CU, Šafárikovo nám. č. 6, 818 05 Bratislava, to the Accont number 7000135302/8180 State Treasury, variable symbol: 104 001 0003. In the message for the recipient please indicate "ADMISSION FEE".   Paste the original copy of the mail receipt on fee payment on page 3 of the application form.

In case of non-participation in the entrance exam the fee will not be returned.

An incomplete application will not be registered!

Requirements of admission of foreign applicants - self-payers:

- knowledge of Slovak language

- oral entrance exam - the topics for the entrance exam are sent to the applicants together with the invitation to the entrance exam

- secondary school educated completed with a school leaving examination

Required attachments of the study application:

- school leaving certificate translated into Slovak language (certified translation) or another equivalent document,

- confirmation on education documents equivalence (if the applicant is from a country that no agreement on document equivalency is concluded with),

- birth certificate - certified copy or another identification document

Conditions of admission without the entrance exam

The condition of admission to the Master law study programme in the field of law study is completion of all the mandatory subjects indicated in the Bachelor study programme of the Comenius University in Bratislava, Faculty of Law.

Students that did not complete the Bachelor study programme at the Comenius University in Bratislava, at the Faculty of Law, shall prove the achievement of a weighted study average for the entire study within the Bachelor law study programme apart from the subjects of the state examination max. up to 1.25.

The dean of the faculty decides on acceptance of the Bachelor law study programme graduate, in the field of law study for the Master law study programme with regards to the capacity possibilities of the CU Faculty of Law.

The dean may decide that applicants for study in the Master study programme must undergo an entrance exam.

The conditions and scope of entrance exam for the given academic year shall be determined by the dean of the faculty.

General information on the admission exam

Only a graduate from an accredited Bachelor law study programme, in the field of law study may apply for the Master law study programme, field of law study. A separate application is filed for full-time and part-time form of study.

Application deadline by: 31 August of the current year.

Attachments to the application:

- CV

- a document confirming payment of the admission fee,

- certified copies of study completion documents (university diploma, state examination certificate, appendix to diploma)

 - an extract from the study results at level 1 university study. In case of students that completed level 1 university study in the given academic year the faculty shall provide for the extract of study results free of charge.

Admission fee: EUR 40

Tuition for part-time study: 1,020 EUR

Payment term  - together with the application

A student that was excluded from study in the Master study programme may repeatedly apply for study at earliest after three years as of the legal force of the decision on exclusion from study in the Master study programme.
