Philosophy
The graduate of the study programme acquires the most important knowledge, skills and abilities necessary for independent thinking and evaluation. The student masters the professional content of the subjects of the individual parts of philosophy as a specific area of human knowledge, and is able to work actively with this knowledge and use it. Has adequate knowledge of the methods of argumentation as well as the methods of the most important philosophical schools and trends (phenomenology, analytic philosophy, pragmatism). He/she acquires knowledge of the practical disciplines of ethics, aesthetics, philosophy of law, political philosophy, bioethics, which broaden his/her field of knowledge in theoretical philosophy, and an overview of current trends and directions in philosophy.
Prospects of graduates
The graduate is qualified to perform the corresponding activities of a team or independent creative worker in institutions and establishments such as governmental and non-governmental humanities-oriented institutions and organisations, third sector organisations and institutions, institutions engaged in empirical identification of the state of society (e.g. public opinion research), cultural and social institutions, foundations, civic associations, editorial offices of professional and social journals, state and public administration (in the field of "human resources"), mass media, management. The graduate can also continue his/her studies at the Faculty of Arts of KU in the two-year master's degree programme in philosophy.

Admission requirements for study programmes:
PHILOSOPHY, HISTORY, TEACHING SUBJECTS IN COMBINATION(except TEACHING ENGLISH LANGUAGE AND LITERATURE IN COMBINATION) and INTERMEDIATE STUDY
- acquisition of a complete secondary education or a complete secondary vocational education;
- commitment to respect the Catholic spirit of the university and faculty;
- in the case of applicants to the study programme TeACHING SLOVAK LANGUAGE AND LITERATURE IN COMBINATION, who have obtained secondary education outside the Slovak Republic, it is necessary to prove the level of proficiency in the Slovak language (according to the Common European Framework of Reference) - at least at the B2 level.
Applicants will be ranked in the final order on the basis of the results of the matriculation examination.

The application must be accompanied by:
a) a certified copy of your high school diploma
- applicants who have passed the matriculation examination in the previous period shall submit a certified copy of the matriculation certificate together with the application form,
- applicants who have passed the matriculation examination in the previous period shall submit a certified copy of the matriculation certificate together with the application form,
- applicants who will take the matriculation examination in 2022 shall submit a certified copy of their matriculation certificate after the matriculation examination,
b) fee payment receipt to be pasted on page 3 of the application form (without proof of payment, the application will not be registered),
c) a decision on the recognition of a foreign secondary school diploma for the purpose of continuing studies in the Slovak Republic (valid for applicants who obtained their secondary education abroad),
d) a certificate proving the level of Slovak language proficiency (at least B2) according to the Common European Framework of Reference (valid for applicants for study programmes requiring the submission of the document).

Student applicants can also submit only electronic application form without the need to print it, sign it and send it to the postal address of the faculty.
Acknowledgement of the registration of the application form and information about the further process in the admission procedure will be sent to applicants by electronic or conventional mail.
Deadline for verification of admission requirements: June 30, 2022 at the latest.
A written decision on the result of the admission procedure will be sent to applicants no later than 30 days after the verification of the fulfilment of the admission requirements. The written decision shall be delivered to the applicants by hand.
