Conditions of admission

Completed Master degree is principalconditions of admission for doctoral studies.

Passed entrance exam is another condition of admission.

Prior to the PhD degree admission procedure the faculty defines a list of dissertations subject matters to be applied for.

A tutor is assigned for each of the subject matters.

PhD degree applicants shall apply for one of the listed subject matters.

Once admitted, applicants will be assigned their respective dissertation subject matters, tutors, schooling centres, duration of studies and, for full-time PhD degree applicants, places of work by the Dean.

The entrance exam consists of and combines the following parts:

a)      written test in a foreign language (English, French, German, Russian or Spanish),

b)      written test in theory of economy,

c)      presentation of applicant's dissertation plan draft,

d)     applicant's reasons for their application for PhD degree, interview verifying their prerequisites for doctoral studies and assessment of their publications, research and scientific work.

Amount of points for entrance exam       

Applicants can earn a maximum of 20 points in the foreign language written test.       

Applicants can earn a maximum of 20 points in the theory of economy written test.       

Applicants can earn a maximum of 40 points for their dissertation plan draft and presentation.       

Applicants can earn a maximum of 10 points in the interview verifying their prerequisites for doctoral studies.       

Applicants can earn a maximum of 10 points for their average Master degree score (including scores different subjects and state exam score).            

exam committees assess the quality of the plan draft and applicant's capacity to present it, they shall verify applicant's prerequisites for doctoral studies. The committees elaborate the overall assessment expressed in points earned in the entrance exam according to applicants' performance in tests, quality of dissertation plan draft and its presentation, prerequisites for doctoral studies and average average Master degree score, which all give applicants' rankings and result in positive or negative verdict.
