Automation, Information Engineering and Management in Chemistry and Food Industry (Remedial)

The accredited Bachelor level study programme of Automation, Information Engineering and Management in Chemistry and Food Industry is intended for those who are interested in technical and engineering studies with an in-depth knowledge of chemistry, information technology, computers, management and economics. A graduate of the study programme has received training in the deployment and use of automation in the technology industry, the application of information technology, management from the simplest processes to the management of enterprises, also with the basic knowledge about the technology of chemical and food industries. The graduates of this study programme are included among those who are best placed to make a career not only in the chemical and food industries but also in other sectors of the economy and research.

A graduate has got knowledge in automation: methods for modelling technological processes, control of technological processes, optimisation, measurement and control technology, industrial control systems, planning and designing automatic control systems.

In the area of information technology, the graduate has got knowledge of: computer operating systems (Microsoft, Linux, Solaris), programming languages (C, MATLAB, PHP), database systems, web technology, office software packages.

In the area of economics and management, the graduate has got knowledge of: the essentials of the economic theory, theory of management, economics and business management, the essentials of logistics, corporate finance and financial management, human resource management and quality management.



Prospects of graduates

Graduates can continue at master level in the same or similar study programs. Universality of this study program makes possible for the graduate to be employed in all countries of the European Union in chemical, biochemical, and food industries at positions requiring completed education of the first degree. The graduate can focus on methods of process modelling, process control, optimization, instrumentation, industrial control systems, and design of process automation systems. He has above average knowledge in information technologies of computer operating systems, programming languages, database systems, and web technologies. He is versatile due to the knowledge in economics and management, economics theory, control theory, business economy and management, logistics, financial management, personal management and quality management. Therefore, he can find employment in lower management positions.

Conditions for international students

Tuition fee per academic year for study in foreign language is 3500 EUR.

Fee for the material costs of the admittance procedure for study in foreign language is 20 EUR.



General information on the admission exam

The minimum group for study of the programme in English is 20 students.

If a student meets the requirements for acceptance to a study programme, but can not be accepted for lack of vacancies, the Faculty will offer him the opportunity to study a related study programme, opened in the academic year in which there are still vacancies.

A candidate with an incomplete application form will not be included in the admission procedure.
